Earlier today, I heard a part of a song referencing God with words similar to “…none like You…” I started singing that phrase, and ended up singing a lot of made-up stuff, all having to do with there being none like, none greater than the God I know. I can’t even remember now how any of it went, but it amazed me in the way the words were coming out rhyming, and the words went with the tune I was singing (also made-up!) That’s how I know it was Spirit-led, because I’m not that musical…surely that was for His ears only. It is only through the grace of God that I can sing to Him a new song!

So tonight, I smiled when I heard the part of Chris Tomlin’s song “Our God” that goes:

There’s no one like You, none like You!

Lord, I praise You, for truly there is none like You! Thank You, God, for such grace, for revealing this to me in a new way, even through a song You would have me sing, through songs I would hear others sing, through the truth of Your Holy Word. Thank You, O God, thank You, for every reason, for every opportunity You give me to worship You…

Jeremiah 10:6-7

Inasmuch as there is none like You, O LORD (You are great, and Your name is great in might), Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? For this is Your rightful due. For among all the wise men of the nations, And in all their kingdoms, There is none like You.

It is so wonderful to feel so loved through the touch of God … and He touched us in His great mercy and compassion through Jesus:

And even now, sometimes I sense His touch … how precious! As I thought about His touch, I happened to see a prayer in The New International Lesson Annual (lesson 4, September 26, 2010) “from Mongolia, taken from The United Methodist Book of Worship” (emphasis mine):

O God, that we may receive Your blessing, touch our brows, touch our heads, and do not look upon us in anger. In a hard year, offer us mercy; in a year of affliction, offer us kindness; dark spirits banish from us; bright spirits bring close to us; gray spirits put away from us, good spirits draw near to us. When we are afraid, offer us courage; when we are ashamed, be our true face: be over us like a blanket, be under us like a bed of furs. Amen.

Thank You, Lord, for being such a personal God - for being of such great mercy, grace, and lovingkindness towards us, towards me…
